Bierman is a good place to
live for college students in
the Dinkytown area and you
can't beat the location. I
lived there my sophomore year
of college and it seems many
of the occupants were either
sophomores or juniors. The
best things about Bierman is
it's clean, a reasonable price
for the area, and the staff is
great. Maintenance was always
done in a timely fashion. The
doors lock automatically which
made us feel very safe.
Parking around the area can be
tough to find in the winter if
you don't want to pay to park
in the lot. There are two main
down sides of Bierman one
should be aware of. The first
is laundry. Unfortunately you
do have to pay to do laundry
and there aren't too many
machines. The other is
electricity. For three people
our electricity bill would be
outrageous in the summer and
winter months (sometimes
almost $200 a month). I think
they have changed it so that
electricity is included which
is a great deal since some
bills were so high. Also, be
aware that there is only an
air conditioning unit in the
living room and not in the
rooms. Bedrooms only have a
heater. Overall though I
definitely recommend living at
Bierman. It's a gem in
Dinkytown where most houses
are disgusting and most other
apartments are outrageously
expensive.
