What is included in rent?

  • Your rent includes - Water, sewer, trash, high-speed internet, and DirecTV.
  • Your rent does NOT include -  Electricity, Parking, or Laundry Fees.

What about laundry?

  • We have laundry facilities on each floor.  It costs $1.50 per wash and $1.50 per dry.  We also have a high efficiency washer (eco-friendly) on each floor that costs $1.75.  We use a laundry card, and the add value station for that card is in the study lounge.

How much is parking?

  • You can either choose surface parking, which is $80 per month, or garage parking, which is available for $100 per month.  We also have moped parking outside free of charge, or in the garage for $25/month.  All parking contracts are for the duration of your lease.  If you choose to do month-to-month parking the rates are $90 for surface and $110 per month for garage parking (with a 30 day required notice).

Is there visitor parking?

  • We allow visitor parking for $5 per night.  You just need to pick up a visitor parking tag in the office.  Please park in the designated area.

What can I do with my bike?

  • You may use our bike racks that are available outside; we just ask that you get a bike permit from us, which is free of charge.  That way if your bike is misplaced or stolen, anyone who finds it will know where to return it.  We also want to ensure that only Bierman Place residents use our bike racks.

What furniture comes in the apartment?

  • Your bedroom comes furnished with: Extra-long twin bed & mattress, desk & chair, and an armoire.
  • If there is any furniture we have provided that you do not want in your apartment, we will gladly store it for you free of charge.
  • Furnished/unfurnished bedrooms - Rent is the same.

What are my options for roommates?

  • We do use roommate matching.  How it works: if you apply to live at Bierman and give us a security deposit we will guarantee you a spot for the fall.   We will then add you to our roommate matching list.
  • If you would rather find roommates before applying, that is also an option...you won't be guaranteed a spot and you won't be added to the list, however, we can still send you the roommate match list.  Then once you find all your roommates, you then can apply to live at Bierman (assuming spots are still available).

Do you allow subleasing?

  • We do allow subleasing; we will add you to a list if anyone calls looking to sublease.  However, it is primarily your responsibility to find someone to sublease (we recommend putting an ad on Craig's List). If you cannot find someone, you will still be held responsible for paying rent for the duration of your lease.  There are some forms in which both you and the subleaser will need to fill out prior to him/her moving into your apartment.
  • The subleasor must be of college age (18-26).
  • There is also a $50 subleasing fee, as well as a criminal background check fee.
